Police brutality

is the shooting of Pierre Loury.He was only 16 when he got shot by a white male police officer that goes by the name “O'brien  Brendan”.Pierr was shot and killed April 11th,2016 in a alley only four blocks away from his home.Police pulled the car over that Loury was in the night he died .Police say that,the car he was in looked ostentatious and connected to a shooting earlier that day.Loury bailed out of the vehicle ,when he noticed the police where on to him.When Pierre jumped out of the car and fleed away an officer chased him down.The officer eventually said Loury pointed a Gun towards him! So the officer pulled his gun and opened fire ,shooting Loury in his chest.Causing immediate death.

Another police brutality happened in Portillo's in River North with a man getting brutally beat by a off duty police officer .The story goes as .“A man says he was beaten by an off duty police officer working as a restaurant security guard has filed a lawsuit”. Terrence Clarke (The victim) said him and his family were abruptly ordered to leave by the off duty police officer because they were “Closing”. “Clarke alleges that off duty police officer, Khaled Shaar, working security at Portillo's that night ,used unnecessary and excessive force,punching Clarke and arresting him.”

The topic that I am focusing on is Police brutality.I really think police brutality is wrong and everyone should get treated the same regardless skin color.Police brutality has been going on for years now and nothing is changing,police brutality has been going on since Martin Luther king was born ,and even long before he was born.


One news story that I witnessed is the killing of Laquan McDonald.Laquan was only  a 17 year old teenager when he got shot and killed by the police for walking up the street.Officer Jason Van Dyke Shot him 16 times! That's two rounds of an semi automatic pistol.

The human right that has been violated #3 “The right to life” ,3. “The right to life. We all have the right to life, and to live in freedom and safety.

In the non fiction article that I am reading it is about the famous ball player Russell Westbrook.The article talks about how good he is doing so far without his all star teammate “Kevin Durant”.Russell Westbrook plays  point guard in the NBA ,he plays for the state Oklahoma.His team name is Oklahoma City Thunder, and he is leading the league in triple doubles (Double points,rebounds,assist) .Russell Westbrook is averaging 30 points per Game,11 assist per game,and 10 rebounds per game.

 With only “Nineteen games into his season, Westbrook, 28, is averaging 30.9 points, 11.3 assists and 10.4 rebounds. He has 45 career triple-doubles, which ties him with LeBron James for sixth on the career list, behind other luminaries like Oscar Robertson (181), Magic Johnson (138) and Jason Kidd (107), according to Basketball Reference.” I found that part interesting because,He is a point guard averaging that many points,rebounds,assist per game by himself is amazing and that really caught my attention because he might pass Lebron James,Jason Kidd,Or even Magic Johnson.

One thing that I have learned is Russell Westbrook career total triple doubles is tied up with Lebron James 4x MVP,with 3 Finals MVP ,3 championships rings.They are tied with the number 45 in their whole career! One thing that I will never forget is “Russell Westbrook needed one more assist for another triple-double in his ruthless campaign across the N.B.A., so he drove the lane and tried to thread a pass to Joffrey Lauvergne, his teammate with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Instead, the ball bobbled loose for a turnover, and time soon ran out — on the first half” I will not forget that because He almost scored a triple double and the first half and that's amazing.

The article that I will be doing this week is called “Scientists find over 600 kinds of creepy crawlies that live in our homes” by Washington post.I would like to start off saying that I picked this article because I am interested in bugs and I am also interested in knowing what lives in the walls of my bedroom,and also home.Also not only is there 10 kinds of bugs but 600 different bugs.The author also explained to us how to get in there and,how long they've been in there .

A message from the article that is important for the world to hear is when it stated. “Some of our bugs may make our homes better without us noticing” I really liked that part of the article because. If I was to see one of the bugs the author gave us in the text I would  have not killed it because I know that “spiders eat other bugs” So I thought that was a very important part to know.


The author's purpose for writing this article was to inform the reader what kind of insects live in their homes.He informed us because he wanted us to know what kind of bugs or insects live in our homes.The author didn't entertain us on how the bugs eat and sleep,note did the author persuade us to buy bug spray ,so the main purpose for this article was to inform the reader.

Aow reflection

Today during My ELA class I learned a page full of things.One important thing I learned is that New Zealand had a very big dangerous earthquake,and following the earthquake that hit 8.9 on a scale, was a tsunami the poor weather killed over 100,000 people and the earthquake killed over 100 people .

Over the weekend I also learned more about the article.I learned that in a small area of New Zealand that has got destroyed during the weather cost 1,000,000,000 to be repaired.My opinion to that is I really think that's a lot of money to only repair one small area out maybe 100 more larger ones.

ELA Block 2 Election response (Due today)

I was not too happy about the election this year. I feel this election was crazy and unfair to me. Reason being, I didn't think people will take Trump serious due to all the unruly and disrespectful things he was saying against women and other races outside of his. I don't know too much about Hillary Clinton, but I do know she has past experience being in the White House as well as being in politics period. I felt like she was a better candidate. It would've been nice to see the first woman President.

My thoughts on the election results was unbelievable. How could Trump, out of all people, be President? When my mom showed me the results, I instantly thought they were rigged. I assumed they did not want a women in the office. This was not Hillary  first time running for president, so how could she not win? I just can't believe Donald Trump is now President of  the United States of America!

In 4 years I would be voting. This is exciting to me because I now have a choice to choose who I want to be the next president. I would vote for someone who is trying to make the right decision. Someone who will treat us all equally and someone who is smart and respectful towards our women, men and children of all race. So I will be voting because my vote will count.

October 21,2016  two boys ran down a quiet neighborhood in Berwyn .Behind the two boys was a big black and white German shepherd dog.Also was police sirens on the next block ! The boys were looking very suspicious they both had on hoodies and also had their hoods covering their face .The neighborhood was in south berwyn in the state of IL . The two boys were two white males and their hoodies had a high School name on it . “Morton west” with a little logo on the top of the hoodie.An elderly women around her 70”s said that. “Those boys are up to no good” that saw the two males heading towards the end of the corner.Her husband had just gone done parking his 2016 Dodge charger car.Her husband was very distraught hearing bad things happening in his neighborhood.

1st quater Reflections

In my 10 book challenge I have read numerous amount of books ,Such as The Giver,   Captain underpants,Diary of a wimpy kid ,and more but My goal is to get to 10 and I'm at 4 !and it's only the First Quarter.I am  also a quick reader but I only like to read book that interest me.I think I can read 20 books before the school year is over .20 books isn't Hard to do but it is certainly not easy especially if  I'm reading Chapter books it would kind of be a Challenge.


A strategy that has helped me throughout this quarter is annotating because the first time I read the giver I really didn't get it .And that's because I didn't annotate because the second time I read The giver I understood it much more .Annotating helps me when I need to go back in the book in pick out text evidence .But when you don't annotate it kind of takes longer to find evidence in the book .And not only with the giver but I noticed myself annotating with another book .Probably because I got use to doing it I'm good on annotating but I prefer to do it on paper instead of sticky notes because of my personal opinions.
1.It looks crazy , 2.Its Not in the way when you are trying to read , 3.You have more space to write what you want .


My goals in English language arts for the next three quarters is becoming a better writer and completing all of my work in school and out .Those are my main goals because in College I'm going to have to write essays and I don't want to have a bad essay because that will affect my grade and it can affect my Basketball ball career. And of course turning in all my work and homework that's for the rest of my school years .If I don't stop lacking from where I am right now I might end up and 8th grade again.And I do not want that. Failing and failure is not in my dictionary.I want to succeed in all my classes of only ELA .But I need to know ELA and of course math those two are the Main objects I need for the rest of my life. Because I need to know how to read write and speak ,Math I need to know how to count ,add ,subtract and multiply (I know how ).

The giver Compare and contrast The movie and book

October17th /2016 In the novel The Giver Jonas leaving the community in the book was a HUGE DIFFERENCE from the movie,because in the movie he got stopped by Asher and him and Asher got into a little fight,but in the book the Jonas already had it planned out on how he was going to leave the community.In the book when Jonas tells us his plan he states ‘I’ll leave at midnight. Jonas said .The food collectors will be finished packing up the evening-meals remains by then and the path-Maintenance Crews don't start their work that early.So there wont be anyone to see me unless of course someone is out on emergency business.”This is important because stuff that happened in the movie did not happen in the book .And the movie added more scenes in movie than in the book because in the movie they added the scene When Jonas crosses the boundary and everyone got their memories back and Color .But In the book It did not tell us about it .Another scene they added was when They where going to release The giver and Fiona.

I think he could have gotten a better actor to play the Star role of “Jonas “ In the book The Giver but he did not look the way I imagined him because in the book It states . “Jonas has pale eyes “ But in the book Jonas had brown eyes.Also he look a little older in the in the movie compared to what it sounded like in the book.In the movie he was tall with brown eyes and he had blonde hair but in the book he had brown hair .A different actor I would have picked probably would have been a younger actor with brown hair and pale eyes. “Brenton Thawites” Did not do a bad Job at his Role I kind of liked his role  But he could have did a better job at sciences with emotions .But other than that Brenton Thatwaits “Jonas” did a good Job

Pg-175"Standing in Freezing mound that was thickening around his numb feet,Jonas opened his own tunic,held Gabriel to his bare chest,and tied the torn and dirty blanket around them both."

This might be important because it shows that Jonas was taken aside for a “brief conversation after he lost a game” Jonas also starts to feel embarrassed and apologized to Asher after a game that they were playing .This shows us that the word released Is not a good word and should not be used to be playing and also Shows that you can get in trouble for using the word “Release".
