4 quarter reflections

The three most important things I learned this year is don't wait until the last minute to get something done,Don't tell stories about doing your homework or anything else, and never come to class unprepared.

One thing I'll remember that we did is travel to the holocaust museum.I won't forget that because when we went there it was a very long and depressing trip I got to walk inside of wagon that was traveling from camp to camp ,and people died inside the wagon it was creepy and sad at the same time.

The nicest thing someone did for me and my class was help me with my IXL I did not know how to do it and every time someone tried to explain it to me I still couldn't understand so they said “hey I could do it for you” and I was excited.

That I'm a good person ,even though I'm not perfect I can still be clumsy sometimes but I always try my hardest.

I think I made my biggest improvement in my IXL work because in the beginning of the first two quarters I would never do them, and never even attempted to.But after the first two quarters I would try my hardest to get them done and I always would even though it was hard I never gave up.

The most challenging part for me this year is coming to class prepared.I use to always come to class with low battery percentage or without a writing utensil or even maybe my folder it was hard for me keeping up with all my school work.

The best writing piece I think I did this year was my third quarter reflections blog I think so because I was 100% percent honest and I worked the hardest on that blog than any other I ever laid my hands on.

All the books I read this year with my class I think night was the best one because it was action throughout the whole book. And because I feel like Elie Wiesel had a harsh teenage years and at that time while we were reading the book I was too so feeling the same way also.

Some advice that I would give to the students that has this class this year is always do your homework, don't lie, don't cheat, finish all your assignments in class,if you're behind on work you should go to working lunch and ask for help. And last but not least don't wait until the last minute to get something done.

“Friendship Matters!”
By:Jason Lovett

I believe that friendship is everything.

Just days ago on the hottest day of the year in the mid 80s I was playing online NBA 2k17 with my friend Brandon. There is no way to win the game it's basically just playing basketball over and over again to become the best player. While we were playing the game we got into a argument because I didn't like the way he was playing defense. .So I told him “You can not play defense, your trash, you can't do anything right” which was very mean for a person like me to say.

Brandon responds to me with “ Shut up ,you can't shoot your a ball hog”. I got mad and decided to turn the game off and go play outside for awhile. Later on in the day I got a text from one of my guy friends and he said you and Brandon are fighting? I said yeah because he's always doing something wrong. And my friend Jaden said “That's no reason to fight someone.”

I thought about what he said and decided to apologize to Brandon for me getting out of hand over a game.He accepted my apology and apologized back.

Our four year friendship almost went to waist over a video game. We almost got into a fist fight for no reason. That lesson taught me that friendship is everything. My friend Jaden spoke with both of us because he knew the thing we were arguing about was something little.

Most people I know wouldn't break up two boys from fight they would encourage each other to fight. So that was nice of Jaden to stop the conflict. I think it was a nice thing Brandon accepted my apology. In the future instead of cursing out my friend I'll think about our friendship and ask myself  “Is it worth it?”

Now every time I play with my friends on Xbox Live, I rather say positive things instead of saying rude sayings that could end a good friendship.

Lit circle last blog.

The Essential question I Chosen is “How did his dad  die ?” I choose that one because in the beginning of the book,The author said that creighton's dad died during the war. Then later through the book, the author said “His dad  didn't die during the war he was hanged”. But then in the final chapter of the book his dad reappeared he was never hanged he was just imprisoned.

In some ways my book “The Year Of The Hangman” and my article “AMERICAN REVOLUTION HISTORY” were similar. Some similarities were they both talked about the war. They talked about why the war happened, when it happened, and where it happened. They also talked about the colonist in the war and soldiers and spies and more.

In many ways which my book ,and my article had differences. My book focused on characters in the book,it also had a main character. However the article didn't talk about anyone specifically.More differences is that the book is realistic fiction and the article is nonfiction. The book is kind of a what if type and the article is based on true facts, and what really happened.

Lit Cirlce blog

In my book the year of the hangman I'm reading about a young man named Creighton..The main character, Creighton Brown is a boy around the time of revolutionary war . Creighton family is wealthy but lately, they have not had such “great fortune”. His father is no longer alive. Someone told creighton that his father had died during the book.In the book creighton gets kidnapped ,he reunites with his uncle, and joins the war.

Creighton(Main character) reminds me of my brother Cortez because. They both are troublemakers, they both make not so smart decisions, and both of their character traits describe each other.Another reason why creighton reminds me of my brother is because in the book creighton accidentally shot his friend with a loaded pistol! That moment reminded me of when my brother accidentally shot me with his brand new paintball gun for his birthday.

The Year of The Hangman by Gary Blackwood is an interesting book.People should read this book because. It talks about the revolutionary war and what happened during the war ,and also it talks about the time during the war. This book makes you think twice about life and it made me think about respecting my family my mom and my dad mainly. This  book is historical fiction and While it is a well known fact that the colonists won the Revolutionary War, this book talks about what it would have been like if the Colonists had lost. This book was published in 2002 and won the School Library Journal Best Book Award in 2002.

Third quarter reflections blog.

This third quarter,I believe I did okay.I believe I did okay because I always turned in my work late or on time.I always studied hard for my weekly vocabulary test.I stayed ahead of my IXL never missed one IXL goal  throughout the whole third quarter. But I also was not perfect I didn't put in all my effort into my work as expected. Some days would be rough and sometimes hard for me but I never gave up.Overall I think I did fine.

I think I made my biggest improvement in IXL because.First quarter I was always struggling or never did them ,I probably never even attempted to try. I would ask for help but still wouldn't understand. Some days I would set IXL aside to do other things, but this quarter I have improved a lot.I always got them done ,never ever missed a day without practicing them.I spent way more time and effort on IXL then anything or anyone else.

One thing that I have accomplished this quarter that I am proud of is my butterfly project.I worked hard on my butterfly project it didn't take me that long to make it because it was made of art paper.I think I did good on it because I got a good grade and when I had to present I was focused and was loud enough for everyone to hear me.But I'm happy that I know I have a good grade for the project and ,for being able to complete the project.

Most challenging part for me this quarter turning in my work on time.Turning in my work on time was hard for me because, sometimes I would lose focus inside of class or at home working on blogs or any given task that was needed to be completed.I can lose focus very fast at any time, and losing focus is wasting time.So turning my work in on time is challenging for because I can lose focus very fast.

Night Blog.!

Focus Question: How do Elie's experiences during the Holocaust change him as a person?

Elie Wiesel changed many ways from the beginning of the book to the end.In the beginning of the book Elie Wiesel had faith in god he was a very pious boy in the beginning of the “Night” book. As I was reading I found a quote that stated. “One day I asked my father to find me a master to guide me in my studies of the Cabala.” This shows that he is searching for a person to teach him about the almighty one (God). But in the book he stops believing God,he questions god and he gets upset with him. “For the first time I felt revolt, rise up in me.Why should I bless his name? The Eternal, Lord of the Universe, the All-powerful one and terrible, was silent. What had I to thank him for ?”

Wiesel has lost a lot of hope also throughout the book, one quote I found when he had a lot of hope was on page 30. “ My forehead was bathed in cold sweat. But I told him that I did not believe that they could burn people in our age, that humanity would never tolerate it.” And on and on with the book he started losing hope. “Father,I said ,if that is so, I don't want to wait here.Im going to run to the electric wire. That would be better than slowly agony in the flames.”(31). That quote shows that he lost faith he just wanted to die and didn't even have faith in surviving.

Last but not  least Elie Wiesel relationship with his father has changed a lot their relationship has gotten stronger. In the beginning of the book Wiesel said. “My hand shifted on my father's arm.I had one thought - not to lose him.Not to be left alone.”(27). Another quote is “I wanted to see first where they were sending my father.” Those quotes show that he love his dad and doesn't want anything or anyone to hurt him. “I gave him what was left of my soup. But it was with a heavy heart.” For Elie to give his soup to his father so that he can survive is heart touching,he can die from starvation but he chooses to save his father's life before his. This shows that he has much love for his father, more than anything and anyone else.
